Little Gems Nursey is Founded by Gloria Elizabeth Morris whom from a young age realised her passion and ambition was to open a nursery, or how she likes to put it a ‘Home from Home’. Belonging to a close-knit community where home-schooling is common she realised the need for parents to feel comfortable and confident in sending their children to nursery at such a delicate age. In order for her to achieve her dream she has managed to create a caring environment by choosing each member of staff personally, ensuring that they are people who also are passionate about her ethos.
In order to give parents peace of mind she is elated that she has created a safe, secure and stimulating environment, a mother herself she has often expressed to her team that
“children's years are the best and most memorable years of one's lives, so therefore we want children to achieve the best childcare that targets each child's needs. We will administer genuine concern and encouragement for each child in our care. We believe in doing what we say and saying what we do.
Gloria already has a successful nursery in Birmingham and has acquired her Wolverhampton nursery in September 2021
We implement the 'I AM - I CAN - I WILL' approach to learning which has been developed by our Manager Dina Lally. It is inspired by Montessori, Reggio Emilia and The Curiosity approach and encourages mindfulness in children and staff, creating a calm child-centered environment.
Here at Little Gems we seek to use our comprehensive experience and understanding into child development. We aim to know the personal needs of each child to secure steady progression and development. Children will be assessed accordingly, and each task and activity will be differentiated in order to support any gaps in their learning and development.
This method allows each child to develop in a way that is unique to them, allowing them to secure a solid foundation of learning whilst stimulating progression across core and enhanced areas of development.
By combining all of these skills and techniques we aim to enable a smoother, natural transition from early years to later education.
